Boop: What is it and why was it created?

Boop was founded by Lauren Boyce, a former buyer at Cult Beauty. During her time at the major retailer, Lauren saw huge volumes of high-end beauty stock going to waste. Not because it was unsafe, but because of things like looming expiry dates or small packaging imperfections.

Boyce said she wanted to find a better way and believed that perfectly good products shouldn’t be thrown away just because they’re a few months from their best-before date, or missing a box. So she created Boop – a site designed to stop beauty waste at the source, while giving customers access to premium products at prices that don’t make their eyes water.

Every product comes with a clear label explaining:

  • Whether it’s short-dated, just-expired, or perfect but unboxed
  • Its expected shelf life and any cosmetic imperfections
  • The original RRP and how much you’re saving

What’s more, it’s not just the dregs. Boop partners directly with trusted brands, retailers and distributors to rescue excess stock and stop it going to landfill.

The platform currently stocks products from some of the most respected names in beauty, including:

  • Medik8
  • REN Clean Skincare
  • Caudalie
  • Elemis
  • ESPA
  • Antipodes
  • Weleda
  • Sukin
  • Balance Me
  • Neom
  • Dr. Hauschka

This means you can shop everything from vitamin C serums and eye creams to hair masks and body lotions for 30–90% less than the usual price.
